Authorities say two northwest Georgia women face child cruelty charges after an 11-year-old boy was found locked in a cage in a bedroom.
Greg Ramey of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says 34-year-old Stephanie Stone and 49-year-old Wanda Redfern were arrested Thursday.
A deputy went to a home in Chatsworth after getting a 911 call from a concerned citizen. Ramey says the deputy got permission to enter the home and found the boy in a cage made from two twin beds. Another makeshift cage was found in the home, and Ramey says investigators believe an 8-year-old girl was kept in that one.
Stone is the children's mother.
Both women face charges of first-degree cruelty to children and false imprisonment. Stone also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
