2 Maine teens who vanished on snowmobile reportedly found safe

The two Maine teens who never arrived at their grandfather's camp Monday night, sparking a wide search in the area due to freezing temperatures, were found safely Tuesday morning, according to local reports.

The Bangor Daily News reported that the teens, Ty Howard-Gotto and Jonah May, both 15, were last seen Monday evening riding an orange snowmobile. They were expected to arrive at their grandfather's camp at 10 p.m. Monday night, and were reported missing shortly after. They were heading from the town of Mexico, which is located in western Maine, to Andover.

The weather in New England has been treacherous. In a separate incident, the body of a hiker in New Hampshire's White Mountains between Mount Madison and Mount Adams, part of a series of summits named after presidents and other prominent Americans and called the Presidential Range, the state's Fish and Game Department said.

The hiker had been dropped off by her husband early Sunday at the base of the mountains. She was alone and planned to hike the top of Mount Madison, WMUR-TV said, before heading through Mount Adams, Mount Jefferson and Mount Washington, which at about 6,300 feet is the highest peak in the Northeast.
