Authorities say they've arrested two suspects in last month's fatal shooting of an Arizona State University honor student, who police believe was killed for his cell phone and laptop computer.
At a news conference Tuesday, Tempe police said 20-year-old Louis Eugene Harper and 17-year-old Marion Anthony Patterson III both are facing charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery in the case.
Police say the two match the description of the suspects provided by witnesses when 21-year-old Zachary Marco was gunned down Oct. 17 as he was walking home. Marco later died at a Tempe hospital.
Detectives recovered Marco's computer bag and say they found fingerprints from both suspects.
The East Valley Tribune says Patterson was arrested Monday night in south Tempe while Harper was taken into custody at his Tempe home two weeks ago in an unrelated case.
