CRITICS: WHITE HOUSE PLAN FOR A GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE DEAL WILL PUT U.S. JOBS ON ICE
JOHN TAMNY: It would be bad for jobs because it would be bad for profits. Oil is the cheapest commodity when it comes powering the economy. If companies are forced into using things that don't make economic sense it will repel profits and investment. When you do not have investment you do not have job creation.
BRUCE JAPSEN: I don't know if this has risen to the level of a treaty to where it needs Senate approval. I don't think we know whether or not it would kill jobs because we don't know how big of a deal it is.
RICH KARLGAARD: Germany is currently embarking on a green project, but they are running up their energy costs and pricing themselves out of manufacturing. It's not good.
STEVE FORBES: This is political. The treaty has no force whatsoever. This is all about November elections; they are doing whatever they can to appease people. In terms of shaming, we see how ashamed Putin and some of these other barbarians around the world are.
MIKE OZANIAN: Countries are not going to care about being shamed; they don't care about President Obama. Jobs are going to go overseas because other countries care about growth.
CARRIE SHEFFIELD: This is going to hurt jobs and consumers. It will jack up the costs of energy and poor families will be hurt the most. This is Kyoto 2.0. Clinton tried to pass a bill like this through Congress and lost 95-0. This would go get through Congress.
IRS LAWYER: LERNER'S BLACKBERRY "WIPED CLEAN" AFTER TARGETING PROBE BEGAN
STEVE FORBES: There is a lot of criminal activity going on here, suppression of dissent, contempt of Congress, and now obstruction of justice. The Justice Department is not doing anything here. Nothing happened with the FBI investigation. We need select committee after the November elections.
BRUCE JAPSEN: If she committed a crime she should be charged. This seems to be a political issue, not a serious investigation.
MIKE OZANIAN: She should be charged because the IRS has a very important role with ObamaCare. The public needs to see how corrupt the IRS is and how corrupt the key enforcers of ObamaCare can be.
RICH KARLGAARD: The law should apply equally to everybody. If people lose faith in the IRS, then faith in the whole American experiment is really damaged.
CARRIE SHEFFIELD: If I had to bet, I would eat my right shoe that she will not get charged. This is like the fox guarding the henhouse. Eric Holder runs the DOJ and he is no friend to conservatives.
JOHN TAMNY: A cover-up has happened and we all know why. Emails are forever. The idea that the IRS could coincidentally "lose" so many emails is laughable. Carrie is right, she will not be charged.
VALUE OF A COLLEGE EDUCATION IN QUESTION AS TOTAL STUDENT LOAN DEBT NEARS $1.3T
RICH KARLGAARD: Kids have to be smart. There are various ways to cut your college costs in half. There are ways to get value for your money.
MIKE OZANIAN: It is still possible to get a college degree and have a return on your investment, but it is getting harder and harder. There are two reasons for that, the subsidies are causing tuition to go up and this recovery is terrible.
STEVE FORBES: In addition to having a lousy economy, we have an education system that has not innovated. Government subsidies have increased tuition. There is no reason that getting an undergraduate degree should take four years.
BRUCE JAPSEN: Many states are looking at new models to come up with new creative degrees. Traditional four year degrees don't work for everybody.
JOHN TAMNY: Once you have economic growth you won't complain as much about college costs.
