SEAN HANNITY, HOST: So last night, Senator Marco Rubio announced that he's running for president in 2016, making him the third Republican to officially declare. He also used the opportunity to take a swipe at the only Democratic candidate currently in the ring. That's Hillary Clinton. Watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. MARCO RUBIO, R-FLA., PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Now, just yesterday, a leader from yesterday...
(BOOS)
RUBIO: ... began a campaign for president by promising to take us back to yesterday.
(BOOS)
RUBIO: Yesterday is over.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: And then looking to the future, Rubio then spoke exclusively with me last night about why he's qualified to be president.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
RUBIO: I served nine years in the Florida legislature in the majority, two of them as speaker of the House, in the third largest state in the country. I wasn't a legislative back bencher. I'll have served a full term in the Senate before I'm president. I've taken seriously my role in both the Intelligence Committee and the foreign policy -- and the Foreign Relations Committee.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Here with reaction -- Chairman of the Republican National Committee Reince Priebus is with us.
You know, interesting. You look at the Chipotle issue with Hillary, she didn't even say hi to anybody. Senator Rubio gave a speech. There was an overflow crowd, Mr. Chairman, outside. He ran out there, talked to them in the Miami heat, came in, was sweating a little bit in the first segment of our show last night, meeting the people!
What a -- what a difference when you compare and contrast, right?
REINCE PRIEBUS, RNC CHAIRMAN: Well, he loves people. And you know, when you think about the Hillary Clinton example, this whole Scooby-Doo van tour was supposed to be about the people, right?
HANNITY: Yes.
PRIEBUS: And what did she do? She puts on sunglasses! I mean, this is -- this is Iowa. It's not Hollywood. They're all walking in the Chipotle with sunglasses on, trying to hide from the public.
I mean, so look, if you look at this whole episode this week, it goes back to what is plaguing Hillary Clinton right now, which is the fact that -- it's not my opinion -- the polling is showing in key battleground states that most people, when they're polled, say that Hillary Clinton is not trustworthy.
The other important thing here, Sean, to think about is that Hillary Clinton's name ID right now is at 100 percent. It's pure saturation. Yet she's losing head to head in battleground states against our candidates that have name ID of, like, you know, 30 percent, if that.
HANNITY: I'm going to get into that in a second.
PRIEBUS: So people aren't buying this stuff.
HANNITY: What about her out of touch -- I mean, the Anna Wintour glasses. She goes in there. If I'm running for president, I want to walk around and I want to say, "Hi, I'm Sean Hannity, I'm running for president, I want your vote. This is where I stand on the issues. Thank you so much. I'm glad you're here. Hi. Thank you. I need your vote and I want to be your servant, public servant." Whatever happened to that?
PRIEBUS: Right. Well, not just that -- I mean, all of that -- I mean, if you want to be successful, especially in Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina, you got to take the sunglasses off and actually go and talk to people and actually care about what people think.
The fact is, she doesn't want the publicity. This is the big thing that a lot of the mainstream media is missing. This is not savvy. This isn't something that's interesting. This is the only strategy that they could employ.
HANNITY: Yes.
PRIEBUS: The strategy is, make sure the field knows that she's running, and then not answer any questions of the media and not actually talk to anybody.
HANNITY: Unbelievable.
PRIEBUS: So she doesn't want to meet with a press gaggle.
HANNITY: All right, Chairman Priebus, thank you. Thanks for being with us.
