And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...
On the Job Hunt
Outgoing ambassador to China Jon Huntsman is weighing a Republican presidential run in 2012.
But Huntsman had only glowing things to say about his potential adversary in a handwritten note to President Obama in August of 2009.
The Daily Caller quotes him -- "I am most grateful for the graciousness and kindness you have shown me and my family particularly your confidence in my ability to represent you in China. You are a remarkable leader -- and it has been a great honor getting to know you."
Huntsman was equally generous with praise for Bill and Hillary Clinton, writing the former president in the same month -- "I have enormous regard for your experience, sense of history and brilliant analysis of world events."
Huntsman went on to praise Mrs. Clinton -- quote -- "She is well-read, hard working, personable and has even more charisma than her husband! It's an honor to work with her."
Huntsman's camp never responded to our requests for comment.
Ready for a Trade-in
President Obama wants a phone upgrade in the West Wing. He was asked about technological innovation during remarks at a fundraiser Thursday and lamented -- quote -- "The Oval Office, I always thought I was going to have really cool phones and stuff. I'm like c'mon guys, I'm the president of the United States. Where's the fancy buttons and stuff and the big screen comes up? It's doesn't happen."
President Obama didn't realize reporters were able to hear his remarks after a microphone had been left on.
Look-alike
And finally, the U.S. Postal Service didn't realize it put the wrong Lady Liberty on a new Forever Stamp.
A collector's magazine noticed that the image was actually of the replica version at the New York-New York Casino in Las Vegas not the original from Ellis Island.
The Postal Service acknowledges the mistake but is standing by the stamp saying the three billion already printed will not be pulled from the market.
