A woman accused of killing an Illinois preschooler in a five-car pileup on Friday also was facing a DUI in another accident that shut power to hundreds of homes months ago, the Southtown Star reported.
Noreen Hession, 31, crashed her Cadillac into a car carrying Ariel Parker, 4, his mother, Rachel Gates, as well as his grandmother and another family member.
The boy was killed and his mother hospitalized in serious condition, the Southtown Star reported, and the two other passengers also were treated at the hospital.
In the earlier accident, in which Hession struck a Con Ed pole, knocking out power to 517 homes, the hair stylist had a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal driving range, the Southtown Star reported, citing court documents.
Hession on Monday was ordered held on $1 million bail.
