So TIME magazine picked that Russian dude for man of the year. But I would have chosen the Greyhound bus passengers who tackled a drunk with a gun. The thug had threatened to kill everyone, but four guys tackled him and held him until the cops came.
I like these people. They took action against scum, and that’s hard to do. Because taking action means you might look like an idiot, or perhaps die, if you try.
Since 9/11, two lines of thinking should hit you every time there's a crisis: Should you do nothing and be cool? Or take action and look stupid? If you don't wrestle with those two thoughts in tough times, then you're made of felt.
These two lines of thinking reveal the key differences between you and say, political progressives, who can't fathom doing anything unless it involves folk guitar and asking, "Why do they hate us?"
You see, in order to prevent evil you have to take a risk — not of death but of embarrassment. The left is really only concerned about how cool they appear to others. That's why they adore bumper stickers.
The bravest response for us? To have the guts to look stupid — at all times. I, for one, am proud to be stupid — because, in most cases, I am.
And that’s my gut feeling!
