A father and daughter from Virginia who were visiting India are reportedly missing after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai that left at least 119 people dead.

Alan and Naomi Scherr — who traveled to Mumbai with the Synchronicity Foundation, a religious group based in Virginia — have not been seen since the series of coordinated attacks occurred late Wednesday, the group's vice president told the Lynchburg News Advance.

“They were having a wonderful time," Bobbie Garvey told the Lynchburg News Advance. “Until the terrorists showed up.”

The group was hosting a meditation program at the Oberoi Hotel, one of the luxury hotels targeted by the Muslim militants. Several witnesses reported Scherr and his 13-year-old daughter being shot in a restaurant and are feared dead, according to a statement on the group's Web site.

Four other members of the group, including two women from Tennessee, were shot but are recovering.
