NEW YORK – Elisabeth Hasselbeck (search), co-host of ABC's "The View," has given birth to a baby girl.
Hasselbeck and her husband, Washington Redskins quarterback Tim Hasselbeck (search), announced the birth of their daughter, who weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, in a New York hospital Wednesday.
The baby shares the same birthday as her father, ABC said.
"Both Elisabeth and I are extremely excited and we're so happy that everyone is healthy," Hasselbeck said in a statement. She is the couple's first child.
Hasselbeck will be on maternity leave for about six weeks, but will reveal the baby's name during a phone call to her fellow co-hosts on "The View" (search) Thursday.
She is a former contestant of "Survivor: The Australia Outback."
