CARACAS, Venezuela – Venezuelan authorities have found the bodies of 10 people who were shot to death.
Federal Police Chief Wilmer Flores Trosell tells the Venezuela-based Union Radio that the corpses were discovered in the western state of Tachira, bordering Colombia.
Trosell says police are investigating to determine if the killings are linked to a recent kidnapping in Tachira.
On Oct. 11, unidentified assailants abducted 12 people, including 10 Colombians, a Venezuelan and a Peruvian, while they were playing football.
Police have not established a motive for the kidnapping or the killings.
Trosell told Union Radio the bodies were found Saturday.
