Andrew Firestone, who proposed to Jen Schefft on ABC's "The Bachelor" — the reality TV couple later broke up — has a new job.
The 32-year-old Central Coast wine family scion is going to work for Beanie Babies tycoon Ty Warner.
Firestone has been hired as director of memberships for Ty Warner Hotels & Resorts. He will roll out an exclusive membership program at Warner's Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club and Montecito Country Club.
He will seek to build a "membership community" that goes beyond the traditional focus on the two Santa Barbara properties to include other Warner holdings, according to a press release issued Thursday.
Firestone is engaged to Serbian model-actress Ivana Bozilovic. They plan to wed next spring. She has appeared in films such as "Wedding Crashers" and "National Lampoon's Van Wilder." He has been working at the Firestone Vineyards in Paso Robles.
His proposal to Schefft on the ABC dating show in May 2003 was watched by millions, and led to months of tabloid chatter afterward. They broke up later that year.
Schefft's relationship book, "Better Single Than Sorry," was published by HarperCollins in January.
