Tuesday, Sept. 16: Batten Down the Hatches

As Hurricane Isabel (search) bears down on the East Coast, a hurricane watch is in effect from parts of South Carolina to Virginia, which means hurricane conditions could hit within the next 36 hours.

We’ll get an update on Isabel’s latest position and strength from Max Mayfield at the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

Plus, we’ll find out how folks in the storm’s shadow are preparing, with live reports from FOX News’ Jeff Goldblatt in Sandbridge, Virgina and Jonathan Serrie in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.

And, we’ll find out what steps authorities are taking to evacuate residents from the danger zone with Wrightsville Beach’s Police Chief John Carey and Lt. Hovey Pope, public information officer.

Why is California's recall race on hold? We’ll ask the man behind the lawsuit that brought the recall to a screeching halt Antonio Gonzalez, president of the Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, and Kenneth Gross, former Federal Election Commission attorney.

Is it right for public schools to let teens out of class to see a doctor, but then keep it secret from their parents?

And, we’ll get the latest on a stunning development out of Iraq (search) today: Coalition forces detain six American citizens suspected of carrying out attacks on our troops.
