Today, the candidates for the Democratic party nomination are counting the hours before Iowans kick off the closest caucus race in years in their state.

All the candidates were urging their supporters to ignore frigid temperatures and join what was expected to be a huge voter turnout this evening.

Four candidates are currently locked in a statistical tie at the top of the polls. Those candidates are Massachusetts Senator John Kerry (search), North Carolina Senator John Edwards (search), former Vermont Governor Howard Dean (search) and Missouri Rep. and former House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt (search).
