Nationally syndicated columnist Tony Snow joined FOX News in April of 1996 as the host of FOX News Sunday, which airs nationwide on the FOX Television Network. Snow also serves as a political analyst on the FOX News Channel. In his twenty years as a journalist, Snow has garnered the respect of some of the nation’s most influential newsmakers. Notably, House Minority Whip David Bonoir (D-MI) recently commented that Snow is, "tough but fair, insightful and to the point."
Snow began his journalism career in 1979 as an editorial writer for The Greensboro Record in North Carolina. He later served as an editorial writer at The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, VA; editorial page editor of The Daily Press in Newport News, VA; deputy editorial page editor of The Detroit News and editorial page editor of The Washington Times. Today, Snow is a member of the USA Today board of contributors and continues to write his weekly column.
In 1991, Snow took a sabbatical from journalism to work in the White House for President George Bush, first as the Deputy Assistant to the President for Communications and Director of Speechwriting, and later as Deputy Assistant to the President for Media Affairs.
Snow received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Davidson College in North Carolina in 1977. He also studied philosophy and economics at the University of Chicago during the 1978-79 academic year. Upon returning to North Carolina, Snow worked as an advocate for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Snow currently resides in Virginia with his wife and three children.
