Like many candidates across the country this election year, Westlake Hills, Texas, Mayor Mark Urdahl has been hitting the campaign trail hard, going door to door to tell his constituents to get out and vote.
For his opponent.
Urdahl says he had decided not to run for reelection in the small central Texas town, but when he tried to have his name removed from the ballot, his request was denied by the Texas Secretary of State’s office.
So he is campaigning for his opponent, Dave Claunch.
Neither Claunch nor the other man on the ballot, Dwight Thompson, think Urdahl's efforts to get off the ballot will have a major impact on the race.
“This is just another dimension to life in Westlake Hills,” says Claunch.
