Texas Man Charged With Biting, Sexually Assaulting 8-Month-Old Boy
A 27-year-old Texas man has been arrested after allegedly abducting and sexually attacking an 8-month-old boy, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Andrew Noel Prescott of Magnolia, Texas, took the infant from the mother's home on Tuesday while she was sleeping, and then bit the baby's face, buttocks and genitals before returning him, police told the Chronicle.
The baby spent two days in the hospital following the incident, and was then placed in foster care with his 2-year-old sister as a precautionary measure.
''He is doing as well as can be expected," Gwen Carter, a spokeswoman for Child Protective Services, told the Houston Chronicle.
The 22-year-old mother, whose name was not released, called authorities when she saw her baby was injured. According to the mother, Prescott is a family friend, and had stayed at the house the night before, Lt. Joseph Sclider, of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, told the Houston Chronicle.
Prescott was charged later the same day with aggravated sexual assault of a child. A charge of aggravated kidnapping was added after detectives learned Prescott had taken the baby to his home, the Houston Chronicle reports.
The baby’s mother found him facedown, naked and crying on the floor Tuesday morning. He had a bump on his head, and Prescott was curled up in the baby's crib with a portable heater, the Houston Chronicle reports. When asked if he hurt the baby, Prescott said “No.”
When changing her son’s diaper later that afternoon, the mother said she noticed blood and bites on his genitals and forehead, the Houston Chronicle reports. That's when she called 911.
Prescott remained in the Montgomery County Jail on Thursday, with bail set at $50,000 for each charge, the Houston Chronicle reports.
