SUV Driver Killed in Collision With Horse in Indiana

A sport-utility vehicle ran into a horse on a state highway in rural Greene County, fatally injuring the SUV's 61-year-old driver.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department says Don Clements of Washington crashed when his SUV struck the horse, which was in the middle of the road. The force of the crash caused the horse to strike the SUV on the driver's side.

A passenger in the SUV, 60-year-old Judy Clements, was treated and released.

The crash killed the horse, whose owner was not immediately determined. It happened late Sunday on Indiana 67 about 25 miles west of Bloomington.
