DETROIT – A former convict on parole who is accused of shooting a 7-year-old girl six times at point-blank range is about to learn more about his legal fate.
Calvin Tillie is charged with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder, along with other offenses.
A Detroit judge is expected to determine Thursday whether there is enough evidence to bind the 29-year-old Tillie over for trial in Wayne Circuit Court.
An effort to reach Tillie's lawyer, Kim Basen Michon, before business hours on Thursday was not successful.
Alexis Goggins was shot when she threw herself between a gun and her mother in December. She lost her right eye and underwent six surgeries.
Despite Alexis' efforts, her mother, Seliethia Parker, was shot twice.
