BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (BMRN) and Alliant Pharmaceuticals Inc. said the Food and Drug Administration has granted marketing approval for Orapred ODT, the first orally disintegrating tablet form of the asthma treatment in the United States.

Black Box Corp. (BBOX) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $4.66 million, or 26 cents a share, up from $34,000, or breakeven a share, last year.
Blyth Inc. (BTH) reported a first-quarter net loss of $30.6 million, or 75 cents a share. In the same quarter last year, the company reported net earnings of $9.96 million, or 24 cents a share.
Buckeye Technologies Inc. (BKI) said Chairman and Chief Executive David Ferraro plans to retire in September. The Memphis, Tenn.-based company has named President and Chief Operating Officer John Crowe to succeed Ferraro as chairman and CEO, effective July 1.
Continental Airlines Inc. (CAL) said May load factor was 81% compared with 79.1% during the same period in the prior year. Traffic rose 14.6% to 7.65 billion revenue passenger miles.
Denny's Corp. (DENN) said May same-store sales at company-owned restaurants fell 2.3% from the same period in the prior year. The restaurant chain added that the monthly guest check average rose 3.5%, while the guest count fell 5.6%.
Esterline Technologies Corp. (ESL) reported second-quarter net earnings of $17.7 million, or 68 cents a share, up 34% from $13.2 million, or 52 cents a share, during the year-ago period.
Everlast Worldwide Inc. (EVST) said it has signed a new agreement with Jacques Moret Inc. of New York City, its largest licensee.
ExpressJet Holdings Inc. (XJT) reported a 23.1% rise in May traffic to 909.7 million revenue passenger miles. Load factor, or the percentage of the plane filled with passengers, increased by 7.5 percentage points to 81.3%.
Kellwood (KWD) reported first-quarter net earnings of $9.19 million, or 36 cents a share, down 22% from $11.8 million, or 43 cents a share, during the year-ago period. The St. Louis-based apparel company posted revenue of $516.9 million vs. $553.5 million.
Longs Drug Stores Corp. (LDG) said May's retail drug store comparable sales rose 2.9% from the same period in the prior year. The Walnut Creek, Calif.-based retail drug store chain reported preliminary May revenue of $401.1 million, up 10.1% from last year.
NYSE (NYX) and Euronext N.V. (005777) said they have agreed to a "merger of equals," forming a new company named NYSE Euronext. Under the terms of the deal, each share of NYSE will be converted into one share of NYSE Euronext common stock. Euronext shareholders will get 0.98 shares of NYSE Euronext stock and 21.32 euros in cash, and will be able to elect to receive all shares or all cash. Euronext will also pay an extraordinary distribution of 3 euros per share.
Oxford Industries Inc. (OXM) said it now expects fourth-quarter earnings of $1.64 to $1.69 a share. The revised outlook includes a per-share gain of 52 cents from the pending sale of the company's Womenswear Group, the Atlanta-based apparel maker said.
Pall (PLL) said its facilities rationalization program will reduce its footprint by more than 20% and reduce its global headcount by 10%. The East Hills, N.Y. filtration company said the move will save $2 million in costs for fiscal 2006, with annualized savings of $40 million, plus a further $10 million in tax savings, by the end of fiscal 2008. The company added that higher sales costs pushed third-quarter net income lower to $25.2 million, or 20 cents a share, compared with $43.7 million, or 35 cents a share, during the same period in the prior year.
Plato Learning Inc. (TUTR) said lower revenue contributed to the second-quarter net loss widening to $5.9 million, or 25 cents a share, from a net loss of $2.95 million, or 13 cents a share, during the same period in the prior year.
SeaChange International Inc. (SEAC) said first-quarter operating expenses increased and the net loss widened to $4.36 million, or 15 cents a share, from a net loss of $578,000, or 2 cents a share, during the same period in the prior year.
Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) reported same-store sales were up 7% in May. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had expected the Seattle-based coffee company to report a 7.6% increase for the period in stores open more than a year.
Threshold Pharmaceuticals Inc. (THLD) said the Independent Data Monitoring Committee has concluded that the company's Phase III clinical trial of glufosfamide for the second-line treatment of patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer can continue to completion.
Wind River Systems Inc. (WIND) reported a first-quarter loss of $2.1 million, or 2 cents a share, on revenue of $65 million, compared to a profit of $1.8 million, or 2 cents a share, on $61.8 million in revenue a year ago.
