WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Actor Tom Sizemore (search) was arrested Wednesday on a probation violation and released after posting $10,000 bail, authorities said.
Sizemore, 42, was arrested for a narcotics violation when probation officers conducting random visits discovered drugs at his residence, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Vance Duffy.
Sizemore, who has appeared in such films as "Black Hawk Down" (search) and "Saving Private Ryan," (search) was sentenced in October to six months in jail on misdemeanor charges of physically abusing former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss during their two-year relationship.
The judge stayed the jail time while Sizemore took part in a rehabilitation program for drug abusers, and said he would consider reducing the sentence to 90 days if the actor successfully completed the program and other requirements.
Sizemore's attorney, Michael Rovell, did not immediately return a call left after business hours Wednesday.
Prosecutors recently alleged that Sizemore violated his probation by testing positive for methamphetamine, but his attorney attributed the result to a prescription drug. A Sept. 2 hearing is set to determine whether Sizemore violated his probation in that instance.
