Security Issue on

The Internet was abuzz Monday morning after a security breach allowed the public to access internal information for the Web site. was notified of a security issue on its servers by 8 a.m Monday. Outside parties were able to see image files and headlines in two of the servers' file folders.

Some of these files contained the password to a server that is used to retrieve headlines from a business partner. This password, however, was long disabled. No user information, e-mail addresses or other personal data were ever comprised. The exposed directories were read-only, meaning nothing could be uploaded or modified within them.

By 8:30 a.m. ensured that changes were made so that the directories were once again turned off to the public. As an added precaution, all passwords were changed. has taken major steps to prevent this type of activity in the future.
