Check out my pictures in Friday's blog. We took lots of stills from our walk around the Judge Lefkow (search) family murder scene and we have posted them for you to see. Click on the links in the photo box above to see my photo essays.

The more I think about this crime, the more I think it is a targeted murder rather than a random one. In my trip to Chicago I heard that the murder scene was organized (meaning that both victims lying near each other in the basement.) An "organized" murder scene is one that is more likely planned than a burglary gone bad. Of course, this is just a guess. I am hoping to learn much more by the time we air our special, Sunday, March 6 at 9 p.m. ET.

Since I am busy flying back to Washington for tonight's show — Kirstie Alley (search) — I am putting you to work by posting your e-mails:

When I watch your show, you remind me that all the hype about various cases (e.g., Terry Schiavo, Michael Jackson, the Peterson case, etc.) actually revolves around REAL PEOPLE (screwed-up people, but "people" nonetheless). It is easy to get cynical and forget that these are real lives, and that real suffering exists on all sides.
Also, I can never seem to figure out which side you're on. I guess that's a good thing?
Best wishes,

Greta,
Why oh why for the past hour (10 to 11 PM EST) keep showing a view outside the federal prison and saying, "Martha Stewart (search) could walk out that door any minute," when everyone has been stating, as you folks at FOX undoubtedly know, that she is being released at midnight tonight, not any minute? I just don't understand that. Is it that you think she might escape early? I have to tell you that it's annoying and misleading, and hurts your credibility.
Marc Friedman

ANSWER: In an effort to avoid media issues, we thought that Martha would leave early. Remember, she entered prison a day or so early to avoid the media. The prison would like to make this as easy as possible and thus would cooperate in any effort to minimize problems — which could mean an early release by an hour or so.

Greta,
Watching this neighborhood where the murders took place, this judge's place looks awfully dumpy, is it me, the camera angle or what? I just expected a nicer locale for a judge.

Greta,
You went on record Thursday night that the Schiavo’s case is important enough to be advertised prominently on your Web site but not really that important compared to Michael Jackson and Martha Stewart judging by the length, placement, and number of times their stories were mentioned. When the story was given, you gave them 5 min and no visible concern or encouragement. By contrast you were very excited about when Martha might walk out of jail to go home to her mansion!

I watch your show daily. I was quite surprised to hear nothing about the triple murder in our town of Belleville, Illinois. Your FOX affiliate station out reported NBC and CBS... yet there wasn't even a little teeny bit on your show. It seems like downstate Illinois doesn't exist.

Hi Greta,
Ha, ha, ha! You must just crack up over the idiotic hate mail you get. I know I do. Love your show. Keep up the good work.
