Crews continue to search a retail and residential building in suburban Richmond that collapsed Wednesday, killing one construction worker and injuring another.
Fire Marshal Robby Dawson said Thursday that crews had searched more than 90 percent of the building that collapsed Wednesday at Chester Village Green, a mixed-use development located about 15 miles south of Richmond.
Rain halted the search Wednesday night, and Thursday morning crews pumped water off the rubble before continuing the search.
Thirty-eight-year-old Scott Giordano of Disputanta was killed when the 60-foot section of the building collapsed.
The rescue effort is expected to be complete Thursday afternoon, at which time law enforcement will begin their investigation into the collapse.
