A judge will hold a hearing Wednesday on whether to release grand jury testimony given in The Station nightclub fire case.

The attorney general's office has filed a petition seeking the release of the testimony, which is considered secret under the law.

A state grand jury was convened days after the 2003 fire at the West Warwick club, which killed 100 people.

In December of that year, the grand jury returned indictments against the owners of the club and the band manager whose pyrotechnics ignited the fire.

Releasing transcripts of the testimony given to the grand jury could help answer lingering questions about the fire and the investigation.

Superior Court Presiding Justice Joseph Rodgers says the hearing can be open to the public.
