Rescue crews have made verbal contact with two teenage boys who fell through a snow field near a mountain summit east of Seattle.
Snoqualmie Pass Fire Chief Matt Cowan says rescuers have spoken to the boys and are using chainsaws to cut through the five feet of ice separating them from the boys.
The teens, ages 14 and 17, were hiking with their mothers Thursday afternoon when they fell through the snow field.
About 40 to 50 rescuers scrambled to the area about 45 miles east of Seattle.
