Heather Mills was reportedly "fired" from the cast of Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" before the show even started, according to The Sun newspaper and

The 40-year-old ex-wife of Paul McCartney was in talks to appear on the second season of the NBC reality show, but was dropped after she demanded her contract include a clause that would guarantee her a spot in the finals, The Sun reported.

“The network were originally very keen on getting her involved," an NBC source told The Sun. "They thought it would be a clever move, attracting lots of publicity for the show. But her demands were ludicrous and it soon became clear that getting her involved would be a headache."

"It was the final straw when she said she wouldn’t take part unless she was a dead cert for the final — even after it was explained that wasn’t how the show worked."

A source close to the show confirmed to "Access Hollywood" that they were in talks with Mills, but "she did not make the final cut."

“There are no deals about who will make the finals,” the source told "Access Hollywood." “The show is not fixed. Trump fires whomever he wants to.”

Mills remerged from her bitter divorce with a settlement of $47.5 million and custody of the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Beatrice. McCartney, 66, retained the bulk of his fortune, estimated at $880 million.

McCartney married Mills, whose left leg was amputated below the knee after a 1993 motorcycle accident, in an Irish castle in 2002. They separated four years later.
