Report: Iran Says U.S., Israel Not in a Position to Attack

Iran's official news agency is quoting the country's foreign minister as saying the United States and Israel are not in a position to attack Iran.

The IRNA report quotes Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki as saying the U.S. and Israel "do not possess capacities to get themselves involved in a new crisis."

But he warns Iran will deal a "harsh and crushing response" if they do attack.

Saturday's report follows Iranian missile test this week, which Mottaki called "a display of Iran's capabilities." Iran says the missiles' range put Israel and U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf within striking distance.
