The deal between the DGA and the studios was reached following six days of negotiations and comes as negotiations between the striking Writers Guild and the studios have reached a standstill.

According to Variety, the DGA deal may be enough of a breakthrough on questions of revenue from new media, a major sticking point for the striking writers, that it could pave the way for a strike settlement between the Writers Guild and the studios.
