CORAM, N.Y. – Police say they have found the dismembered remains of a college student and another man who vanished on Long Island, and two suspects have been arrested.
Darren Lynch and girlfriend Leah Reynolds are due to be arraigned Friday. The 28-year-old Lynch was arrested on murder charges, and the 22-year-old Reynolds on a charge of hindering prosecution by hiding guns used in the killings.
Lynch's Queens telephone number is unlisted, and a possible number for Reynolds rang unanswered Friday. Authorities were unsure whether the two had lawyers.
Victims Joseph Odierno and Jairo Santos were last seen July 16. Santos was a student at Long Island University's C.W. Post College.
Police say the victims' remains were found behind Lynch's mother's house and in a sump in Coram.
