A former New Mexico prison guard is being investigated for sexual impropriety, and may be slapped with a rape charge, after she became pregnant during a consensual relationship with an inmate, KRQE News 13 reported.

Reyna Lujan resigned from Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center earlier this year after working at the prison for two years. According to investigators, an informant tipped off a prison officer that Lujan was having sex with inmate Eric Brayman, behind bars for trafficking a controlled substance, in his cell.

Officials listened to 300 phone conversations between Lujan and Brayman, which paint a clear picture of the consensual relationship. Brayman called Lujan "my girl" and told her "it felt good when you touched me today," according to the police report.

"The sheriff's office is recommending that she be charged with criminal sexual penetration in this case,” DA spokesman Pat Davis told KOB News in New Mexico. “It's a second degree felony because it involves a person of authority — in this case, a correctional officer."

Lujan could potentially be charged with rape for each time she had sex with Brayman, even if it was not forced.

Brayman has since been released from jail and he and Lujan are living together.
