Anne Hathaway and Steve Carrell certainly ooze with sexual chemistry in the upcoming movie remake of the hit series "Get Smart." But behind the scenes, things weren't so sweet when it came to their on-screen smooch.
"There was a health scare last year and a certain contact solution, I won’t say the name of it but it was the one that I use — gave you conjunctivitis," Hathaway explained to Pop Tarts while promoting her latest stint as Agent 99. "I also had a sinus infection at the same time. So I had to go up to Steve, my eye is red, puffy and dripping green — I’m just like snotty and I’m just like ... 'Come here!'"
It wasn't until after their intimate lip-lock that Hathaway discovered she had the highly contagious eye illness and had to make the dreaded call later that night to the film's producer, Alex Gartner.
"I said you might want to call Steve and let him know I had pink eye and my tears kind of got in my mouth, so he might want to worry about that," she said.
But despite the not-so sexy scenario, Carrell must have done something right. ...
"I'd do it [the kiss] again in a heartbeat!" Anne gushed.
No Babies for Eva?
Eva Longoria Parker stepped out at Monday night's CDFA Awards sporting a tight-fitting pink dress which showed a tiny belly bump, prompting reports that she might be expecting.
But according to an insider close to the "Desperate Housewife" and her hot Hollywood restaurant Beso, the only thing she was expecting was a good time.
"Eva isn't pregnant," our source said. "She isn't allowed to be, we need her to travel and promote!"
However, a rep for Mrs. Parker didn't deny the possibility of a pregnancy.
"We don't comment on our clients' personal lives," the spokeswoman said.
Alanis Morissette Hits 'Rock Bottom'
When it comes to pop music, Alanis Morissette is up there with the best, but when it comes to men, the Canadian-born singer hasn’t had much luck.
Early last year, Morissette split from her then fiancé Ryan Reynolds, who is now getting ready to tie the knot with Scarlett Johansson. But could Alanis’ single status have something to do with her tell-all relationship rule?
“It's a safe assumption that I will write about anything, so anyone who would want to date me or want to hang out with me would have to know going into the relationship with me that I’m pretty transparent that way,” Morissette told Tarts while promoting her new album “Flavors of Entanglement,” which was released this week.
“It’s up to me to be able to have the boundary and know what I want to keep private," she said. "I know how to protect other people’s private lives and my own, and at the same time, I don’t want to be secretive and have the fear to come from feeling shame of not sharing parts of myself."
Speaking of sharing, Morissette was also very open in revealing her what she went through recently in suffering severe depression and hitting “rock bottom."
“I just couldn’t keep it together, and yet I was someone who had always been overly responsible and kept things together too much and was always trying to adhere to this perfectionist standard,” she said, looking down. “So for me the very nature of hitting rock bottom is that you do unravel in a way that's great and so horrifying at the same time."
The road to recovery is still something the songstress struggles to stay on, but it’s the little things in life that help Alanis stay sane.
“It's a combination of many things of self-care for me — talking with people and sharing things that I might be ashamed of in inappropriate places,” she said. “As well as therapy, dancing, moving, writing, taking photographs — being held, all the little creature comforts are so important. Just being psychologically as in tune and as aware as I can be, parenting myself a little bit better."
Christina Aguilera’s Son Stars in New Ad Campaign
He is only 6 months old, but Christina Aguilera’s baby boy, Max, already has a starring role in a new Public Service Campaign that launched on Wednesday alongside his musical mama.
The new “Rock the Vote” television, print and online campaign is targeted toward young people and encourages them to vote in this year’s upcoming election.
“Voting is a right that we are fortunate enough to have and one that we should not take for granted," Aguilera said in a statement. "I encourage all young people to use this right and realize they can make a difference."
The powerful PSA opens with Max draped in an American flag while Christina sings him an emotional lullaby — her own rendition of “America the Beautiful."
