Police: Ceramic Statue May Have Killed Interior Designer

A ceramic statue may be to blame in the death of a Salt Lake County interior designer, police said.

Robert Brian was found dead in his home Thursday afternoon by a dog walker. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said the statue apparently fell on Brian, cutting him severely.

Police are still investigating what happened. Spokesman Lt. Paul Jaroscak said they initially treated the death as a homicide, but now believe it was an accident.

Jaroscak said Brian, 57, could have stumbled into the statue and knocked it over.

An autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
