A man who drove a pickup truck to the U.S. Capitol and said he had a delivery for President Barack Obama has been arrested after a rifle was found in the truck, police said.
Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, a Capitol Police spokeswoman, says the man, identified as Alfred Brock, 64, of Winnfield, La., was charged Tuesday with possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of unregistered ammunition.
Schneider adds the suspect did not make an explicit threat against the president.
Police briefly closed the north driveway to the Capitol grounds while the truck was inspected for hazardous materials. None were found, and the pickup was towed away.
