Authorities in Modesto say the pilot of a stunt plane was seriously injured when the craft crashed while performing at an air show.
Rob Harrison, 66, was doing barrel rolls and other aerial maneuvers during Modesto Airport Appreciation Day when the plane slammed into the ground toward the end of a runway far from spectators.
Harrison, who is from Claremont and performs under the name "The Tumbling Bear," was taken by helicopter to Memorial Medical Center.
The show continued, but without any more aerobatic performances.
According to his Web site, the plane Harrison was flying was a single engine, open cockpit Zlin 50LX built in the Czech Republic in 1996.
