Pilot Continues Flight to U.K. Despite Bomb Threats Found on Board

A pilot flying a packed jet from the Dominican Republic to England refused to turn back after a passenger in the jet's lavatory found a note claiming there was a bomb on board, the Daily Mail reported on Wednesday.

An unidentified passenger told a flight attendant he had found the threat scrawled on a paper towel in the restroom. After two more notes were found, the pilot, who also was not named in the story, emerged from the cockpit to take a look but decided it was a hoax, the Mail reported.

"The airline can confirm that passengers and staff were not at risk and all of them have disembarked and continued with their onward journey," a spokeswoman for the ThomsonFly airline said.

Police met the aircraft upon arrival at Newcastle International Airport and conducted a search but did not find anything suspicious, the Mail reported.

According to a police spokesman, "This incident had all the hallmarks of a hoax."
