Party Time

Saturday night was the annual White House Correspondents dinner. As usual, the honored guests are the president and the first lady. This year's entertainer was Jay Leno who joked about just about everybody.

“On the Record's” guests were Kwame Jackson (No. 2 in “The Apprentice,” but sure to be a huge success), Gloria Allred and Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman Dan Senor. Dan just got back from Baghdad a day earlier -- if you watched the show Wednesday night, I interviewed Dan and we mentioned that he was traveling back to DC after the show. Incidentally, he is headed back to Baghdad in the next 36 hours.

I thought you would like to see some behind the scenes pictures from the dinner. Click here for my photo essay.

Some final thoughts about the dinner: If you think that we in the media spend a great deal of time going to flashy parties like this one, think again. This is a once a year event. It’s the media's answer to "prom night."

What probably best reflects our work is the blog I did a few weeks ago showing the Fox green rooms -- not fancy. We are -- in the final analysis -- people who work jobs.
