An ally of ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya says the leader is seeking a safe-conduct pass so he can leave Honduras.
The report comes from David Romero, director of Radio Globo, a station that has supported Zelaya since he forced out in a coup June 28.
The station cited Romero on Wednesday as saying Zelaya is seeking some guarantee from the interim government that he would not be arrested if he left the Brazilian Embassy, where he has been holed up since sneaking back into the country Sept. 21.
Neither Zelaya's spokesman nor officials of the interim government that replaced Zelaya was immediately available to confirm the report.
