Nonsense of Security?

The National Guard has been on high alert protecting California's bridges.

It's all part of the new normal, post Sept. 11.

But some people are now questioning just how necessary the specialized guards are, saying local police could do the job just as well — especially since the cops come without the National Guard's multi-million dollar price tag.
