A Brooklyn coffee shop has replaced a stolen Statue of Liberty that turned up in a video showing it blindfolded, beheaded and smashed to pieces.
The new statue was donated to Vox Pop by a Manhattan restaurant, One if by Land, Two if by Sea. Its dining room manager was inspired by the real Liberty when he was in the Coast Guard.
The video, staged to resemble a terrorist beheading, was posted to YouTube anonymously on July 4. It included text slogans like "We don't want your freedom" and "Death to America."
Police are still investigating.
The coffee shop is known for left-wing political debate.
