Police say a 16-year-old Michigan girl who ran away to Puerto Rico has been located by authorities.
Pittsfield Township police Detective Lt. Stephen Heller says Jasmine Rieberger was located Tuesday by Puerto Rican authorities and Interpol.
Heller says a man who was with her has been detained.
Mother Stacey Rieberger tells WXYZ-TV and The Ann Arbor News that her daughter was located about 40 miles from the San Juan airport.
Jasmine Rieberger left her Pittsfield Township home on Saturday and flew to San Juan via Detroit and Atlanta.
The 16-year-old destroyed her computer and Xbox to cover her tracks but left a note saying that she had not been kidnapped.
Pittsfield Township is in Washtenaw County, about 35 miles west-southwest of Detroit.
