MOSCOW – Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is "ready for thorough joint work" with Washington on disarmament and other issues, a Kremlin spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The remarks appear to be a response to President Barack Obama, who called Monday for Washington and Moscow to "lead the way" in reducing the global nuclear threat.
Natalya Timakova says Medvedev welcomes the initial signals from Washington on the potential for future U.S.-Russian relations.
"The Kremlin responds positively to the latest comments of U.S. administration members on the future of U.S.-Russia relations," she said.
Vice President Joe Biden in a speech in Munich last week declared Washington's readiness to push the "reset button" with Russia.
