Police say two suspected California counterfeiters operated a massive bogus driver's license ring for customers in the West and Mexico.
Francisco Pullido and Joel Lopez of Greenfield were arrested Tuesday by Monterey County sheriff's deputies. They were booked for investigation of possessing and manufacturing fake official documents.
Investigators say thousands of fake driver's licenses were produced by the ring for use in California, Arizona, Oregon and Washington as well as 22 states in Mexico.
Sheriff's Cmdr. Mike Richards says customers likely paid hundreds of the dollars for each counterfeit license.
