Authorities say the death of a woman whose body was found in a parked car in Malden is being treated as a homicide.

Middlesex District Attorney Gerard Leone said the investigation is in its early stages and detectives are talking to a number of people who may have information about the case.

Jules Dorce said he was told by police that the body was that of his sister, 37-year-old Norma Dorce Gills, who owned a beauty salon in Malden.

Dorce told The Boston Globe that he last spoke to his sister two weeks ago. A missing persons poster with Gills' picture had been put up on the door of the salon.

Police did not immediately confirm the identity of the body, which was found Wednesday afternoon in a car on Faulkner Street.
