Mass. Man Charged With Having Suspected Explosive Device

A Norton man has been ordered held on $10,000 bail after police found what they think was a homemade bomb in his car.

Prosecutors said 37-year-old Jason Driscoll pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of a suspected explosive device at his arraignment Tuesday in district court.

Police said Driscoll was pulled over just before 7 p.m. on Monday after officers received information that he might have explosives in his car. Four nearby homes were evacuated and a street was closed to traffic during the investigation.

Lt. Todd Jackson told the Sun Chronicle of Attleboro that police searched the car and came across a suspicious device.

Driscoll told police that he didn't plan to harm anyone.

Prosecutors did not immediately know if Driscoll had a lawyer.
