An explosion has destroyed a house in central Indiana, badly burning a 20-year-old man who was inside.
Alexandria fire Capt. Jim King says the house had collapsed and was engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived Tuesday evening.
Derek Noland was taken to the burn unit of Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was in critical condition.
No one lived in the house, which is owned by Noland's father. Chris Noland lives next door and says he used the house for storage.
King says the state fire marshal's office has been asked to help determine what caused the explosion. The blast and fire littered nearby yards with debris and damaged the siding of neighboring houses.
