A Texas man is in jail after he allegedly burned his girlfriend alive after a weekend argument.

Terry Leigh Lee died late Sunday night after she was burned over 90 percent of her body at her Conroe home late Saturday night.

Neighbors said they called 911 Saturday night after John Dodd ran to their home, saying there had been an explosion in the kitchen.

Authorities arrived to find the severely burned woman in the kitchen. They later determined Dodd's account to be bogus.

Conroe police Sergeant Mike Tindall said investigators believe the couple had arrived at Lee's home after a night out and had gotten into an argument. Investigators believe Dodd then grabbed a can of gasoline, doused Lee with it, then ignited it.

Lee had been a Montgomery County caseworker for Child Protective Services and was a past winner of the Texas CPS caseworker of the year award.

Dodd's now in the Montgomery County Jail charged with murder. Bond was set at $250,000.
