FREDERICK, Md. – A man is dead after a Maryland sheriff's deputy used a Taser to break up a fight.
A sheriff's office spokeswoman in Frederick says the first deputy on the scene found four people fighting. She says when the deputy deployed the Taser, the 20-year-old man fell on the ground unconscious.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities are investigating. The deputy involved has been placed on administrative leave with pay.
