A liquor store clerk was facing felony arson charges after authorities say he set himself on fire with alcohol in the store in an apparent suicide attempt.

Police and Clark County (search) firefighters doused flames and rescued 23-year-old Christopher Thomas White Sunday — but not before he also locked himself in a bathroom in the burning store and slit his wrist.

White was taken to a hospital for treatment of his cuts and burns and then booked into the Clark County Detention Center pending a court appearance Tuesday.

The fire caused serious damage to the Saint Tropez Liquor store on Paradise Road at Harmon Avenue east of the Las Vegas Strip (search).

Police arriving at the scene were accompanied by a crew from the TV show "Cops."
