Lifeguards Save Teen Drowning in Kansas City Wave Pool

Lifeguards pulled a 15-year-old boy from the Oceans of Fun wave pool Thursday after he was he was hit hard by one of the waves, witnesses said.

Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and continued CPR on the teen as they transported him to North Kansas City Hospital.

A group of teenagers frightened by the rescue said the teen was pulled from the deep end of the wave pool, which is 10-12 feet deep. The teens said they've seen swimmers pulled from the waves before.

"They're pretty hard, they'll hit you hard if you can't swim," Lindsey Bowman said.

A park spokesman said an investigation will be conducted.
